Anatomy of a Skateboard


A standard issue skateboard is made up of the following parts:

Deck - This is what you stand on.
Grip Tape - Sandpaper-like surface that keeps your feet from slipping off.
Trucks - Turning suspension, holds the wheels on.
Wheels - Connects your board to the ground.
Risers - Gasket between your deck and your trucks, elevates your board ride-height.
Bearings - Wheel bearings keep you rolling.
Bushings - Provides shock absorption, turning ability & stability.
Hardware - Connects your trucks to the skateboard.
